Community Health and Well-being Centre
Club Ballygalget is currently fundraising for a new Health and Well-being Centre for our community. Ballygalget is a small rural community with little to no public services. At Club Ballygalget we are working hard to create facilities and services to benefit our wider community. We recently funded and opened a 4G floodlit pitch and have now completed our Highway to Health track around our perimeter which is free to use and open to everyone. We don’t think we should stop there! At Club Ballygalget we feel the community would benefit greatly from a Health and Well-being Centre where the whole community, from mums and toddlers to senior citizens and everyone in between can come along for classes, workshops, advice, health and fitness.
In an attempt to combat social exclusion the proposed Health and Well-being Centre will provide much needed services as well as cultural and recreational facilities to our isolated community. It is anticipated that the services will include workshops on mental health, suicide awareness, drug and alcohol misuse, nutrition and health issues as well as first aid.
